I have the '79 with the 13B aggressive street port, i'm looking into a new muffler because my the inlet on the Racing Beat Muffler is smaller then what i'd like it to be... I like the way it sounds now, but i'm wondering if there is more power to be found with a different muffler... I'm just wondering what everyone can suggest for a good balance of power, without being just a straight through muffler...
Thanks Shay P.S. I'm running 2 1/2 inch pipe from the RB header back... |
Personaly I run a 2 1/2" pipe into a flowmaster. It is one of the least restrictive and free flowing. just my .02 worth.

I have a question......With the exhaust on these cars, don't they require a certain amount of back pressure because of the way these engines work without valves, and there is a small overlap of the intake and exhause from what i know, that a totally free exhaust will cause more of the incoming air/fuel flow right out the exhaust port?

ya no, my magnaflow gives me a good tuned sound. ive always liked it and dit hasnt given me any problems
|
No, from the guys that realy race these cars, open that sucker up. I know one that runs a 3" x 19" exhaust.

mine has a pre silencer and high flow and a flowmaster 40 series single in dual out muff and i was just noticing how good it sounds

i am running 2 1/2 through a presilencer and then through a super trap and it sounds awsome, i am running 15 plates in the super trap

How do rotaries sound thru a SuperTrapp tip? Got a sound clip?

How loud is it with the Magna? I think they are the least restrictive you can get. |
