Well, we're in a bit of a pickle over here. We need to replace the master cylinder on the ITA RX-7. As far as the previous owner knew, the brakes in the 1980 tub had been swapped out for brakes from a 1983 to get the discs in the rear. So I get a 1983 master cylinder. And it's different than the one in the car! I've put some pictures together at
http://nutdriver.org/bp.html If any of you folks know Gen1 RX-7s well enough to identify them from the pictures, I'd sure like to hear from you. Thanks in advance, Lefty |
The one that is on it is an 1980 MC
|
yeah thats an 80 master in the car

Many thanks for your help, guys. I think we've got it sorted. Now we'll see if we get the right part from the depot. :-)

Maybe the previous owner swapped the brake proportioning valve and not the master cylinder? It's a track car. The stock proportioning valve is gone and a "screw type" replacement lives in the cab, just beside my thigh when I'm driving. :-) |
