There is still too much wheel gap for my tastes after installing the rear eibach pro kit. I have yet to install the front springs, but after letting the rear sit for about a week, there is still about 2cm wheel gap drivers side (acceptable, however) a 3cm gap on the pass side.

Could this be because i havent installed the front springs yet?

Also, to lower the rear a bit more, would removing the plastic top ring off the rears be safer than cutting the springs? Or should i not do either?

Don't cut the springs, there are always better and safer methods of lowering your ride height than cutting the springs. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/unsure.png

A lot of the ricers used to get their springs cut (cheaper) around here, and its not good seeing springs come out whilst people are cornering.

And these better and safer ways are???

Have you already bought all the gear?

If so,

Wait till you've put in your front springs first, you dont want to be mucking around with the job only half done. If after you've done both ends and its still sitting too high, then start looking for your alternatives.

I'm not familiar with the eibach's, we use superlow king springs over here normally. Do you have a legal limit to stick to?

ioTus 06-14-2003 11:24 PM

You mean there are laws for cars??

;-)

I live in small town america.

Also, I'm guessing that the front is very much skewing the suspension.

The rear drivers side sits at about 2 fingers height of wheel gap, and the passenger rear at 3.

Both front wheels (still stock springs), are at 4+ fingers on the passenger side, and 4 even on teh drivers side.

Here is a pic of the exact car these springs came off of:

After installing the front springs, i just ASSUME it will affect the way the rear sits.

I should do that first, then complain, huh??? ;-)

Only certain springs can be cut safely.I was going to chop the ones on my 83 but I still need to see what style they are before I bother with them.Need to ride low yo. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

u want low like this??

these are ST springs i bought already cut from a guy in Tx. i like the look, didnt mind the ride, but i think i blew the rear shocks, so the ride really sucks now.

drifter: those kings springs, they come in stock, low and super low, correct? how low are the super low?? the lowest u can get aftermarket here is about 2" all around. and i was looking for maybe 2.5 to 3. i think the cut springs i have are 3 or 3.5. but since theyre cut, it takes away from the "safe" handling capabilities.

thanks

oh and my car also sits lower on the drivers side that the passenger side. i always thought a previous owner tried some off roading with it...

ioTus 06-16-2003 02:39 PM

YES. That is how low my car will be when i'm done. That is a sweet lookin car man!!!

Did you roll your fender lips? Also, do you bottom out much? Which struts do you have?

Did you ahve to cut the rubber perch to allow for my travel?

Also what size rims and tires are those
