I have a 85 rx7 with the 12a and it is leaking coolant. i have very little knowledge with engines so i am hesitant to try to fix this myself. it looks like it is leaking from the gasket between the block and pulley housing. I can find anyone around me (Lynchburg Virginia) who works on rotary engines except the dealer but im not paying that much to fix this. If anyone can help please let me know. If this is a task that is no to involved that i could do myself any help would be great.

Maybe like the water pump is leaking. You can confirm if water pump is leaking by wiggling the fan back and forth. Any play will indicate that pump should be replaced. Easy project. New pump will cost about $50 plus a gasket.

water pumps aren't too hard to change, just make sure to clean both the metal surfaces as best you can before installing the new water pump and gasket. then refill the coolant at the highest point in the system and drive it around a bit carrying a coolant bottle with you. if your low coolant light comes on or the temperature starts to get too high, shut it down and pull over. as soon as it cools off enough that you can pop the cap add more coolant.
