What's up guys. I'm picking up an '84 GS in a little under 2 weeks from a buddy of mine (used to be a member here, but i dont think he posts anymore). It's got a GSL rear end and rear discs w/ tokico shocks and nothing much else for mods.

I plan on doing some weight reduction and dropping in a JBridge 12A I'm building on the side... hoping for at least 250whp and around 2000lbs.... we'll see how it ends up.

It needs some body work, interior is pretty much 50% there... I'll get some pics up this weekend. I'm looking forward to the FB project... it's a hell of a lot cheaper than my FC project, lol...

My other buddy has a PPort 13B too...we may drop that in instead of the JBridge.... depends on how $ goes... we'll use the car to promote a new website I'm building...

Good luck with the project. But getting the car down to 2k lbs is going to be tough. Make an all motor drag car and destroy some of the V8 bastid's out there.

Not if you get vicious with the air ratchet. Cutting the underside of the hood off only saves about five pounds and makes it flimsy as hell. Getting rid of the tar on the floorboard gets rid of at least 30lbs, but I think it weighs more - very labor-intensive though. Removing the stock seats and storage bins frees up a bunch of weight. Replacing the dash and HVAC with an aluminum panel cuts a bunch. No side windows or regulators and plexiglass rear windows makes a big difference. For a small gain, you can try replacing the water pump housing with an aluminum version, but it does require welding up a hole in the aluminum. Don't forget lightweight rims and tires!

Every single once and a while I see a FB that is right around the 2k mark. Beater...the post made me laugh and reminded me of this smiley. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...enchainsaw.gif

I need to get my camera back out and take pics of my F-Prepared autocross project. The tar's gone, the underside of the hood is gone, the dash and interior are gone, the wiring is gone (gonna re-wire from scratch), the suspension is off, the engine bay is emptied and painted, the doors are hollow, and I'm working on the underside.

Yea, i'm not new to FBs...this will just be the first one I'VE owned... I've stripped many of them down based on E-Prod regulations and ITS... This one I'll be allowed to go further since it's a drag setup... it has some cancer in the wheel wells so it'll probably get tubbed anyways... I'll get some pics up shortly... looking for 14s on stock motor, lol...

they were down to 2020lbs for the 79 imsa season, stock chassis tub, big wheels
