I wanna run Individual throttle bodies on my 85 gslse but was confused on how I would go about the set up and what all I would need. I know www.tweakit.com sells the ITBs and Haltech but is Haltech the only thing that can run the ITBs or can Megasquirt and an S-AFC do it or something else? I really want to have the ITB set up but don't really understand what works with it and the pros and cons of them. I know Dori dori (Drift king) has them on his AE86 and many people have them on their drift cars. Any advice on any of this would be greatly appriciated. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blush.png

I made a post about this in the Engine Building section...it's pretty lengthy and just might have the information you want.

you cant really do it with the stock computer. you need something like a haltech, megasquirt etc

Ok So I 've read like 40 billion topics on the ITB's and believe that The mega squirt would be great. So this setup was supposed to be expensive but From what I've gathered the ITB's are $516.00 the manifold is $173.00 and the megasquirt is like $200-$250 that's like a grand what else do I need? I am already ordering the ITB's,manifold and Megasquirt. I just wanted to know what else do I gotta get? By the way After going thru all the threads on ITB's I couldn't really find dyno results on proven power and also why these are not too streetable. I see people in japan using them as Daily driven cars with their ITB's. Anyways I was just curious since I'm buying it all now. Any info would be helpful. By the way thanks for the info so far. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

I don't know why they would be unstreetable...it seems like they would increase torque thereby improving acceleration. But I'm no expert.

not many people run a setup like this on a stock block, most people who do this have a big port (bp,pp)

Is this the setup you're talking about?

they are very streetable. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

power increase will depend on your overall setup (ports, ignition, exhaust, etc.) but when they are setup properly you get better-than-stock drivability.

Not that I am an expert (quite a novice actually), but I read that stock ports are going to be the limiting factor. I read that you needed a relatively large port to get anywhere near surpassing the flow capabilities of the stock intake manifold.

Hope I am not spreading bad info; just passing along what I gleaned from my earlier research on the same subject. I have to pass emissions so it is no longer in my car's future.

that sounds right cant back it up with proof but it sounds good.
