Here it is: 1985 GSL-SE 13B stock. I want to turbo it, but nothing too radical because this car will be not be a daily driver, but looking for reliability.

I just want to know where to start: what kind of turbo charger, intercooler plumbing and necessary hardware needed?

Does anyone here have a step by step guide (with pictures) they used for building their turbo FB?

What is the estimated cost?

Thanks for your input!

Most peeps do a TurboII engine swap rather than add a turbo to a 13B. The GSL-SE is the best model to have, well done.

Drifter,

That's what I'm starting to realize, and now doing some research to get a Turbo II engine and all components necessary for this project.

Thanks for the reply, anyone else with advise, please post!

the stock engine setup will make ok power, but its only got 2 injectors, so it runs out of fuel quick.

its also got an oddball intake/tb adaptor so one for the turbo would have to be custom.

also if you're keeping the stock manifolds, the turbo manifold needs to be really long and put the turbo way up by the air box, or really short and put it right on the motor, there arent any bolt on manifolds, although the hks iron is close.

so its easier to put a t2 motor in, because all the after market stuff fits, and then all you do is wire it up, and plumb the ic, and you're done

The TurboII swap sounds like the way to go, from what I have been reading on various threads. I'm going to start looking for a TII motor, ECU and all the necessary hardware required to get the job done.

If any knows where I can start looking for these parts let me know, I live in South Florida.

I could not help but notice your "MIA" on your profile. Obviously you are in South Florida/Miami - so am I. I live in Hallandale Beach. Anyway, I recently joined this wicked site (today), and I'm also currently modifying my GSL-SE. I'm probably a lot further ahead than you are. My engine is already built and installed - 13 B, BIG Street Port, Turbo, Micro Tech, Intercooler... Have you started as yet? Any progress on the Turbo? Be careful. Everyone claims they know about Rotaries, but ensure that who ever is doing the work truly knows what they are doing. Let me know if you need help, because I have a seasoned mechanic...

Respect,

Yardi

I just created a topic in "Motor Swaps" regarding taking the FD manifolds, ECU, etc (anything but the block itself) and making them work on the 13B from a GSL-SE. Don't know if it's even possible, but the parts fell in my lap for free, so I'm exploring the option. If anyone reading this semi-related post has any ideas I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks! Good luck in your own turbo efforts too!
