Whats up guys here's the deal. I got my hands on a 13B and tranny. Along with that I have a R.B. intake and a 48mm mikuini. I want to put in my 82. I have a few questions.

1) motor mounts, do I need to get the mount from a GSL-SE

2) Tranny mounts what do I need it's a 2nd gen. trany

3) is the gear shifter going to fit or do I need to cut a new hole in the Trans.tunnel

4)How many psi of fuel do I need to run on a 2nd gen stock port 13B, with the mikuini 48

5) Recomended exghaust diameter and yes I will get a R.B. hedder

6)Fianally the most important question how mutch H.P. Can I roughly expect.

7) Forgot one will my 12A distribuitor work in that 13B.

any and all input greatly appreciated.

1. no, although you can. racing beat sells one, or you could slot the holes/weld it up

2. 86-88 i think bolts right up, 89+ will need to be fabbed

3. it fits fine

4. i dunno

5. 2 1/4 or 2.5 is prolly best

6. 140-160rwhp is realistic, you could end up with more if you tune it just so, and have a good combo of parts

7. yes

for the motor mounts, racing beat sells the front one. i believe its the only one you need to change. and i think you'll have to go custom on the tranny mount. I believe the shifter will reside in its current location. i may be wrong though. i've just read these things. so i can't guarantee any of those facts.

If you are running N/A, then save yourself the head-ache and run an FB transmission - Period.

I thought there was the ~1inch difference in length with the shifter?

On that note, does anybody know where that thread is for explaining how to change the shift rod housing.

That's for TII trannies, and you also need a custom driveshaft to go along with it.

Trust me, there are plenty of bridgeports with NOS around here using the stock FB trannies.

It's not HP that screws them up, it's Turbo Torque (and bad driving).

Hey thanks for the info and all your advise. In refrence to the tranny i thought using the 2nd gen tranny would best i thought it was geared better. i noticed that some of you said. use the FB tranny. I use to own a couple 2nd gens back in the day and I remember doing close to 60 mph in 2nd gear. The Fb tranny 2nd gear tops out at like 45 ish. Have any of you actually done this swap just wana know how you like it.

I have successfully used FB transmissions with 13B's up to ~250 hp without problems. What type front cover is on your 13B? The mount which Racing Beat sells (and which you do not need if you modify the 12A mount) is for the front-mount 13B into a 12A chassis. If you have a side-mount engine it will not work. I do not think making a "slot" as J9FD3S suggested would be a good idea as there is not enough length. What I have always done is lengthen the 12A mount by welding on extensions. Refer to this thread where I posted pictures. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/index.php?...topic=28938&hl=

Slotting the crossmember works fine. Its just a cheap fix if you don't wanna buy the RB mount.
