I've looked into a headlight conversion for my car's old skool lights for a while now but never stumbled upon anything resonable price-wise. Then i found these

Heres what they look like on a RX-7...This isn't my car by the way, it belongs to Sgt Fox on the rx7club forums. Be aware of shipping though....it's $17 for shipping if you didn't notice.

camocarl 02-27-2004 04:22 PM

just on ebay, and i think they were around 30 pucks for two. install SUPER easy, requires a bit of modifying for the metal thingy directly behind the assembly. glad you like

The lights look awesome...extra funds will go to a new set for me

Alak 03-12-2004 12:17 AM

Some superwhite lights are illegal, I dont know about the states, but here in canada I had these ultra white lights on my van and the local authorities gave me a ticket. I know HID, XENON and Those Silverstar ones are legal (As well as many others Im sure) - I think its best to stick with basic ones, like silverstars. Then just install foglights or superbrights for highway driving. Most cities are too well lit for a person to justify spending extra money on bright headlights. Although, bright headlights do justify themselves because extra foglights dont always look good..........

Hadoken 03-12-2004 10:19 AM

I live in the country and alot of the roads I drive on are in the middle of hilly corn fields and pastures, I was driving the other night and I could barely see anything in front of me unless I was using my brights, and then cars kept coming. If they're really that much brighter I think I'll get a pair to help me see better, and to make my car look better. Not to mention see the deer hiding in the corn fields before they jump out in front of me and decimate my car...

So the ones from Procarparts just pop right in? No modifying or anything?

ioTus 03-12-2004 12:27 PM

Yes. THats my understanding. I'm thinkin I'll get a set here in the next few days.

Hi, any help/suggestions will be appreciated...

Anyways, I decided to get these lights from procarparts, partly from the enthuastic responses from this forum. WHen i got my lights i was eagerly ready to put them on and see if i noticed a difference between them and my stock ones. Well i have, but that doesn't mean it was better...

When it gets later i can put a pic up to show what i mean, but here's my problems...

The light output is actually weaker than my old stock headlights. (The lights are whiter, but i can only see close distances and not farther away)

THis could due to a # of factors, however, i noticed that the only way my bulbs can go in to the headlight is if the headlight is reversed. For ex) the "hole" where the optional bulb could go in is around the 12 o clock (top) postion rather than where it suppose to be (arround the 6 oclock position) (below the H4 bulb)

The mechanic that i took the lights to thinks that headlight itself (not the bulb) could be defective, just thought i get a 2nd opinion from any of u that has these lights on ur rx7.

Any suggestions on how to get my lights like the above 2 pics would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

no one has any ideas https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

i'm just really curious if this is how the headlights were designed? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

treceb 05-11-2005 07:13 AM

park it in front of a wall at night and see where the beam reflects. that way youll know for sure if it is the position of the headlight housing or not for sure. other than that, maybe your bulb itself is different from the ones above.

UH85rx7 05-11-2005 05:49 PM

k thxs will look into it

drifter 05-12-2005 10:43 AM

could you put one old one and one new one and compare
