I really want my car back on the road, so I'm wondering how difficult it is to rebuild the engine. I don't know a lot about the internals, I just have a few cheap tools (but can borrow from co worker), and if I buy the seals I need, you guys think I could rebuild the engine myself and still be able to drive it afterwards?
of course I'd come on here for all the info I can get, just don't know how hard it is since everyone in the area is asking so much money for it. Wish I could take it to someone but no money income at all lately. |
Read through all of this and then ask yourself the same question. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Well put...You could do a break down by just removing the externals & leave the "meaty" stuff for the PROS.Then you could reasemble when they're finished. That might be a bit cheaper.

What's the best replacement seal for a 12a? I've heard mention of everything from 2-3 piece seals, 2mm think or 3mm thick and I have no clue what to look for. Also, apex seals aren't listed as apex seals are they? Because I haven't been able to find anything under that listing.

I think most of, if not all of, the 12A motors have 3mm seals as stock equipment.

So it'll be 3mm thick. Two or three piece or is this option just for the 13b engines? Any recommended brands?
