Its getting to be that time in my engine swap. What all is involved when locking the distributor?

Basically you dismantle the dizzy and tack weld the weights so the centrifugal advance can't... Well, advance.
I don't know if you really need to though. I use a standard S2 dizzy and that works just fine. Although, my vacuum advance isn't connected. What sort of setup are you going to use for your swap? Have you considered an ECU that controls the ignition (as well as fuel). Like a Microtech, cause it's cheap and works fine. |
yah i dont see the point in locking the dizzy either, i'd run the vacuum advance too.
well hey wait, arent you using the stock fc ecu? mike |

Yeah i'm going blowthrouhg. NO electronics involved
So would just disconnecting the vacumn advance work? And set the timing to the full-most position? or what |
i dont think you really need to doit as long you dont have your vacuum advance on. i have a 12at dizzy and i have the vacuum retards off im planning to connect them and see if it does any diference
