Ok, so I drove my car out to my mother in laws the other night and when I went back out to start it... nothing happened. The engine isn't even attempting to start.... the alternator is reading at full charge and the battery is reading at 12... but there is a lot of dimming going on so I'm not sure if that reading is correct... the battery is currently hooked up to a charger but nothing is happening there either... not even charging... checked the starter cleaned the battery connections... but still no response.... What do you guys think is going on? Is it possible that my battery is just dead?

personally i had a fusable link burn out on the right side of the engine compartment and caused similair problems. that is where i would check first since it is an easy, cheap fix. and if nothing happens at all (no lights, no starter cranking, no nothing) then that could be a good possiblity

Yup start with the fusable link, that will kill the entire motor.

Did you try to jump it? The dimming lights tells me it battery is toast. remember volts and amps are two different things!

You can make a jumper wire to test them, but make sure you replace them with oem ...ones ...

You can still get new ones from Mazda.

If that doesnt work look down towards your starter and see if anything is shorting out. One time this happned to me and my starter wire poped off the solenoid lol

Fusable link is a possibility but I would first check to see if the starter solenoid wire is loose or has come off, if it has it will not allow the starter to work. If it is on, you may have a starter problem, try hitting the bigger round part of the starter not the smaller (solenoid) with a hammer a few times to attempt to free up the gear inside

I'd use the FC underhood fuses. Those fit the FB underhood fuseblock with slight modification. (I think you have to poke a thin screwdriver into the terminal of the fuse to widen it out slightly.)

It's a 50 amp for the center one (Main fuse) and 25 or 30 for the outer two (Headlights and Headlight lift motors)...

On GSL-SE's I think the upper two are 30's as well. (ECU and Injectors)
