headers on a first gen? how about a full exhaust? sound good? how much horsepower will it generate? is it worth it or should i just go with stock? ......has no exhaust as of now :( any advise on proformance upgrades? oh, and some idiot took apart the oil injection, now i HAVE to premix, why would someone do such a stupid thing? recommendations on premix (type) to use?

As for the exhaust question?
I just installed the Mazdatrix Full Exhaust System on mine and noticed a big difference. But I also installed the Racing Beat Holley Setup to include the Intake. I would say depending on the condition of your motor, you will gain about 15-20hp with the the above Header i.e complete system w/stock carbie and 20-30hp with either Weber or Holley setup. As per the idiot that removed the OMP and I say that politely!!! There is alot of discusion on this site already on Pre-Mix ideas. I lost a motor w/28,000 miles on it because my OMP quit I did not pay attention to it. I plan on checking mine about every 3 months on this new motor. Good Luck https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif |

Headers make the difference between night and day. Defiantely a must.

I'm building a new motor right now for my 2nd gen, with modifications done to disable the OMP and run premix exclusively... I guess I'm an idiot too https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

HEader and exhaust are the first step to making power on a rotary.
I will highley recomend the RB streetport exhaust. well worth the money and gobs of power. |
im looking in racingbeat right now.....168$ i think, and i need a new pipe, mines got a baaaaad leak, worth the money? you say so, ill try. now isnt the ignition system like the heart of a rotory? its what ive heard and i dont know what to believe. any other advise to a newbie would be well appreciated. oh, and pengaru....i dont think you are an idiot for doing it to your own car, this guy was an idiot for doing it and not telling me. :bigok:

After seeing my friends and I waste money doing the exhaust just going for the best will do justice in the long run for money. Racing Beat Street Port Exhaust system is awesome and worth the price one time around instead of looking for a prettier muffler.
Street Port Exhaust Retail Price: $682. The Long Primary system typically adds 5% or more horsepower over a Short Primary system on a street ported engine, especially at higher RPMs. This system can also be used on non-ported engines with significant results. It is strictly bolt-on, with no welding required. If you find a local shop that has an account with racing beat you can get it a lot cheaper. |
