I'm thinking of making the conversion to this setup. Have you done any research into turning off the oil metering and going to pre-mix? Here's a few links:
The Oil The Fix I've read everything I could find on this subject and came up with this. I know of other oils available like AMSOIL, Protect-R and Marvel Mystery Oil. I decided on Klotz since it's castor oil which will burn cleaner, more efficiently and will have superior lubricating ability. I came upon it at the recommendation of a guy that used to race Shifter Carts, then 1st gen. RX-7s begore moving on to bigger and better things. This setup should accomplish several things: longer engine life, cleaner/more effecient engine oil with no need to add to it inbetween oil changes, cleaner exhaust, better gas mileage, better performance. Any thoughts? |
A LOT of people premix. Bugger the oil metering pump, just put some 2-stroke oil in your gas tank when you fill up. I'm not sure of the ration as you guys use gallons where I use Litres, but I'm sure you'll find it quick enough with a search for premix.

TC3 is the formula that burns well in internal combustion engines, the W is for wet. these 2 stroke oils are all about the same, some might burn cleaner than others, but too little difference to make notice.
a good ratio by the gallons should be around 20-35ml per gallon depends on the way the car is driven. generallly, more rpm the engine sees, more pre-mix is needed... |
