Ive got a red carpet. you sure its outside the gas tank, if so whats the pressure its pushing? thinking of taking the pump off the gslse and puting it onto my 12a and just installing a pressure regulator.

j9fd3s 01-07-2003 04:56 PM

it pushes like 35-40 psi, its too much ofr the carby, unless you have a buff regulator. i'll pm you about the carpet

There isn't any 12a pumps used????If you can get parts cheap off it just do a 13b carb swap like mine. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

check this, fuel pump fixed my problem. but wants to cut off randomly, making the car do the same thing as before, think wiring is just loose. but if my timing and mixture are off enough, would that m,ake the car stall out after pushing the choke in?...car runs fine, idles very high when choke pulled out. push choke in, car cuts off?

Your car should idle higher with the choke out, but if your cars at temperature, it shouldn't die when you put it back in. I'm glad the new pump has solved some problems for you. Your mixture and timing are important, but if your car was running fine the day you got it, unless you've fiddled, it should still be ok. Get the timing light out.

My fuel pump and filter looks like this...
