Anyone know how much power a stock '85 GSL-SE transmission will be able to handle?

depends on the condition of it and the way you drive, 220-250rwhp is prolly a safe guess

I am installing a 20b twin turbo into that car. It is reted at 300 Hp, any tips on a better transmission that will work in my car for 300-400 hp?

Currently running a 83 gsl trans and pushing 400 rwhp. ( 13b turbo 1st gen ) In the last year only gone through one trans, let go in secound gear at 7000rpms. My 60 foot times are not very good, 2.0 range. I am easy of the line and secound gear. It will hold up to allot of abuse but it does depend on your driving habits. I do not think it will hold up to the torque of a 20B.

find a turbo 2 tranny, they do fine with the 20b power

Will a turbo II transmission fit easily into a 1985?

the turboII trans will bolt to the motor but the trans mount is in a differant location. The shifter is set back 2 inches also. Then you will have to get a driveshaft made to mate the turboII trans to your third member. the output shaft is larger.
