A little while back I was getting a sort of grinding noise that sounded like it was coming from the front of the car, passenger side, that was audible sometimes in a straight line but mostly when there was a little side force on the wheel, when cornering (even gently) to the left. So of course I suspected the wheel bearings. The wheel was a tad loose so that seemed to confirm that suspicion. Replaced that side wheel bearings on Saturday - and the noise is still there https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png I'm doing the other side tomorrow just in case, but I doubt that will fix anything.

Any thoughts?

could it be the rear bearings? how did the ones you changed look?

The ones I changed looked actually not too bad at all. But the wheel had about a half inch of play in it when you wiggled it side to side. Sound is quite definitely from the front, unless my ears are fooling me . . .

After taking my 7 to a friend who is an auto shop teacher at an adult school

(they replaced the struts), I started hearing a grinding noise. it turns out the

kid who worked on it got the placement of the two caliper mounting bolts reversed!

I had to buy a new rotor and caliper to fix the damage that was caused.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png

ouch!

Sucks that you had to pay for his incompetence.

On my mums car the wheel rubs on the brake and makes a really annoying squeking/grinding noise. Actaully that car is a total POS. (toyota camry)

well, i signed a waiver basically saying that "they were not responsible for ....."

And it was The last car that kid got to work on. After his Fuckup (fifth in a row),

The teacher told him not to return in the morning. "Or ever again!"

oh well, the kid was careless and could've killed me.

I learned my lesson too, I stopped going there and just do it myself.
