https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683454.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif Ok so The city i live in decided that they are going to tear up the street where i live.... well if i wasn't backing out the driveway today in the ReX to go visit the local hole in the wall muffler shop to see if he'd build me a Straight pipe for dads car....
The Tips for the muffler get caught on the 3 inch drop from the street to the dug out section in front of our drive way.... Pushed the Right one down almost Pinching the Tube and pushing the left tip up.... So now monday morning i have to go to the City to https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/argue.gif with them to see if they are going to pay for my muffler... Now i know that they are going to try and take the easy way out..... and offer either to repair the one that i have **which i'm thinking could cause problems in the future** or they are going to offer to put a replacement on.... Now i'm thinking since the Exhaust from the rotary is hotter than a piston engine a normal off the shelf muffler wouldn't stand a chance would it? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png;) (i think you guys know where i'm going with this......) I'm thinking this one right here if they decide to replace my Muffler http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset.asp?Pa...artNumber=16433 unless you guys have other suggestions |
Do The Racing Beat Muffler!
Your right about the cheap off the shelves Mufflers. The RB one will last you forever and you will notice a difference in Power also. steve sgieldon |
I agree. Definately go with the RB muffler. I used one for about 6 years until I switched to a complete 3" for the Turbo. It was put on another car and is still in use. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

BTW does anyone know exactly the difference in temp from a normal Piston engine compaired to that of a Rotary?
So i have something to back my story up on the whole an off the shelf muffler wouldn't last? |
Accordingly to Racing Beat
Rotary Engine at Full Throttle and High RPMs = 1,700 -2,000 Degrees F Boinger " " " " = 1,000 -1,400 Degrees F steve |
Ok so i went to the city and they stated I need to go get 3 estimates on this
so i'm going to go to Midas Minake (SP) and some other place and tell them that it needs to be either a RB or an OEM lets see which is more expensive LOL and if the city doesn't like the estimates i bring in I'll tell em hey you buy it i'll install it it's a win win situation for the both of us :-) |
