Does it make any serious differences if you use the shroud or is it just there to protect yourself from the fan?I think its fugly and wondering if theres no other reason to leave it on. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

Alot of people who switch over to e fans still use fan shrouds...

It helps it work on that concentrated area..Yes it will help it cooler

Say you have a hot peice of metal you want to cool...if you blew on it ..it will still get the air..now if you had say a straw and blew in it ..it would direct the air to where you want it to be better right?

Hey racerx, i'd agree with sorrow on that one. I've got a Mitsubishi Shogun that I fitted a better fan shroud to and got 20 degrees cels cooler under bonnet temps and 9 degrees cels cooler engine coolant temps. Even my old 1970 Capella runs cooler with a shroud. If you paint it red it will look cool and go faster!!

Yeah,,it's a good idea to use a fan shroud

it will also make sure you keep all your fingers

i took one off once and a wrench fell

off the top of the rad and get jettisoned into the windshield

Now theres a sweet car. :bigthumg:

Even if you install an electric fan, i'd say to keep the shroud on. I use a semi-flex fan 17 inch with a 2 1/2 inch

spacer.the stock fan and clutch are ******* heavy about 9 lbs,,,really !!.. the shroud even includes the oil cooler. you might try without a shroud and see what happens, just keep an eye on the temp guage. ****,, the fan on my 7 pulls so much air that if you walk in front of the car while it's running it pulls your pants leg

in to the intake ( radiator) it moves that much air. What's so great about that black car. the only thing i can see that it's got going for it ,,is how wide the rear wheels are. the windows don't even roll down. it's got those delorean type crap (windows)?? openings. it looks like it's got jackman wheels( tacoma's)...IMO
