I cracked the water pump housing on my T2 pump.I bought a new pump but its just the front section. Will my old SE rear section bolt to the T2 block?I can tee off a coolant line to make the line to the turbo

Yes, you can use the -SE housing! You can also use the pump if you have to.

I had to use the whole thing. The one hole is way off on the SE housing. So I get to use the SE pump for now. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png At least the motor goes in tommorow. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/happy.png Just need to find some way of getting a tranny mount made.Knowone here carries thick enough aluminum to make one. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png

Aluminum is a softer metal give some comfort during shifting. If I used steel to make the mount I would feel the car shake at idle then really shake during shifts.

I might have to try a steel one for awhile with some sort of rubber on either side of the mount.Either way my engine is in the car now.now the wiring mess begins. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png

I used the stock tranny mount, with the holes slotted. No spacer either. Fit perfectly.

It might be an "SE" thing, but I think that's what your project car is.

I'm still trying to figure out how you used the stock trans mount https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif or are you talking about the stock crossmember? You can just set the trans on the crosmember and it may look right but you really need a 3/4" spacer to move the trans up to stock location.

Where did you crack the water pump housing at anyways? When I had to drill/tap the coolant sensor hole to 3/8"NPT I think a cracked the housing a little https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png but all I could see was a tiny hairline crack so I'm hoping the 565 loctite will fill the crack https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blush.png

I cracked it taking it off the block to get the front cover off.It was sealed to the block damn good.Oh well I have a SE pump on it and plan on redirecting the BAC coolant line to the turbo instead and do the throttle body mod at the same time. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

The stock manual SE crossmember works with the T2 tranny?I need to know by the weekend. My car didn't have a tranny crossmember on it when I bought it from the wreckers so I have to get one anyways.

Thanks

Luis
