^^well what did you do? obviously you transplanted the crap into your 1st gen but what things exactly. did you just do the engine or did you do the tranny, too? was it a turbo or N/A. how easy was it? how much did you pay for the car? sorry for all the questions.

dac swapped out the engine and tranny (I think) from a 88 NA into a Suzuki Sidekick. He is using a Haltech as his EMS.

Bridgeporting will seriously shorten engine life. You can mount a 13B using a GSL-SE front cover. If possible use the 89-91 higher compression rotors, flywheel and counterweight and a healthy streetport. Then put a nice carb like the holley/rb set-up and a RB exhaust and you should be at 180 hp (flywheel) at the very least. I weighed all the options recently for my engine that will replace the current one in my GSL-SE and this seems to be the best deal without going through the huge headache of a t2 conversion. The carb and the manifold will cost you lots of $$$ but as many have said, if you want a turbo car, your best bet is to buy a car with one already in it.

About the engine swap from a different car. If I were going to do this I would swap everything: engine, tranny, wiring harness, computer, etc. That way you are just left with the basic conversions of engine mounts and drive line. Sorry to say it but on a Ranger pickup swap we did (not a rotory) we had to redo the wiring to attach to the peripheral devices like:instrument panel, Lights, Fuel pump, and wipers. So that would be the trickiest part.
