944's are pretty nice. They were more or less the direct competition to the 1st Gen RX-7. I owned an 87' Turbo for awhile and it had tons of power. The handling was deicent, not as good as an FB (weighs alot compared to an FB). Fun car. The only thing I found facinating about it was that the transmission was in the rear. The Driveshaft (or in this case, output shaft) was encased in like a pipe and the transmission took the place of the rear diff. Even though the shift linkage was the length of the car, it still had short, clean throws.

a friend has one(944). i hear theyre tons of fun to work with.

Just to add a little input the front end is a lot similar to the Mariah Wide Body Kits that they sell on their website. My 1st gen has the kit on it and everyone is mistakening it for a Porsche 944.
