got her running today!!! sounds beatiful! to bad the rest dosnt match.....YET!

enjoy!!!!!

we call her barney for obvious reasons...

sen2two 02-21-2008 04:28 PM

fuel cell...

sen2two 02-21-2008 04:29 PM

holley 600, RB manifold, holley fuel pump, andRB road race headers...

sen2two 02-21-2008 04:35 PM

FD oil stand, steel braided lines with aftermarket lines....i think its the only clean part in the entire car! but damn it!!! she purrs!!!! or GROWLS!!!

sen2two 02-21-2008 04:43 PM

i completely pulled the entire harness. looked way worse with it in there. the only wires that are in the car, are ones i put there. the bare minimun to get it started.

should be a light car. no porting on a stock 83-85 motor. never opened. i wonder what she'll run!

1980 completely gutted

83-85 motor (never opened, no idea how many miles)

4 puck unsprung clutch

83-85 LSD rear

holley 600

RB manifold

RB headers

MSD coils

Mickey thompson competitors. 245 (9 inches)

RE_TurboFB 02-21-2008 07:56 PM

I'd like to take that thing for a spin!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif I wonder how much shes putting to the wheels???

sen2two 02-22-2008 08:01 AM

im hoping to drive it today! all i need to do is strap down the fuel cell. and th battery too. its not pictured. but right now its in the passenger side close to the firewall. for shorter wiring. i think im going to keep it in that general area. the look of barely any wires makes me hapy. im going to have a toggle switch to run the driving lights. and another for the headlights and motors. plus the brake light. i'll probly make an aluminum dash. something real simple and light.

j9fd3s 02-22-2008 01:20 PM

not bad at all! depending on the weight, i'd say high 14's are doable, somewhere in the 15's is prolly more realistic though.

not sure how well slicks and a stock 12a are gonna work.

i like the no wire thing too, i'm gonna try and hide mine too, or at least unclutter it, looks so much cleaner....

i'd also cut the floor and mount the fuel cell lower, but hey, car's not done

bigboi12A 02-22-2008 06:29 PM

Becare full slicks on stock rears dont always mesh well. keep the air pressure in those tires up a little on the high side. I say 15.65. remember stock motor.

sen2two 02-22-2008 10:10 PM

there not slicks. there street tires. or drag radials i think.

i also plan on cutting out the rear to mount the fuel cell almost flush. just about 2 inches coming out. plus the flat metal would look much cleaner. plus i plan on cutting the floors out ( there slightly rusted) and replacing them. so most likely they'll be flat steel also. i dont know of anyone who makes floor pans...

plus, im not scraping out that gunk ever again. i did it once to my old FC....NEVER AGAIN!!!

this is my when im bored, budget, do what you can project. i havnt spent over 1000. including cost of car. not bad i say for the parts she has on her...

Sukai94 02-22-2008 11:56 PM

I don't think she is dirty! She just needs some love! She looks quite nice! I love the color! Congrats!

defprun 02-23-2008 11:56 AM

I'm here because of the "sloppy".

hell yeah im going to run it like that...just to see what she runs.

im like 20 minutes from Orlando speed world. your close to here???

i have to figure out whats wrong with the holley first...the damn secondarys are leaking!!! even with that, the idle is pretty stable and revs pretty clean. but obviously breaks up cause of all the extra fuel at idle from the damn secondarys...

anyone know why the holley would so this???

sen2two 02-25-2008 02:11 PM

think i fixed that problem. just lowered the float level a bit. i see no leaking now...

and i put on my new home made exhaust. sounds like a 10 second beast! no muffler right now, or any silencers. the RB true dual header connects to a true dual exhaust and collects near the rear end into a 3 inch pipe. im going to put a muffler, but i dont know wich one yet...

kinda drove her too! out the garage and down the drive way. rev'ed a few good times then back in the garage...lol. she moves!!!

i'll post some pics of the exhaust soon...

defprun 02-26-2008 02:06 AM

You have a RB on a 12a first gen? I want to know what that sounds like, my old car just sounded like a weedwacker on crack much like yours must sound like now....

sen2two 02-26-2008 02:05 PM

RB what? header? yeah...

but the exhaust is custom.

sounds mean. i like...

defprun 02-27-2008 02:16 AM

With my next car we're going to find out what a S4 13b sounds like with a carbon D+D sport bike muffler on it...

Maybe it'll just blow a hole in the carbon and sound like **** anyway...

sen2two 02-27-2008 08:08 AM

those mufflers are like 2 inches though right???

defprun 02-27-2008 11:24 AM

The one I got was 2 1/4 in and out...it's currently ghetto rigged on the honda.

sen2two 02-27-2008 11:53 AM

still rather small for a performance application.

bigboi12A 02-27-2008 07:20 PM

Run that beast I'll come watch I'll run my 84.

Racer X 02-27-2008 09:30 PM

Nice car man.Just give her a wash and wax. Then roll it hard.

i'll let you know when. all i need is a muffler right now. the exhaust un-corked is to much to make it without getting pulled over. maybe we can run eachother!!!

sen2two 02-29-2008 07:27 AM

here a few shots of the exhaust sytem. i like to call it "the bastard"

headers are RB road race.

from headers to axle, is true dual all the way bay from a SCCA 2ng gen,

from axle back is a cat back for a 3rd gen from 5zigen.

you'll se i went under the axle for a more cleaner flowing exhaust. i tryed to keep it as strait as possible. that u-bend over the axle really annoys me. and theres still plenty of clearence for it not to scrape...

i had them in the garage, so i cut them up and made them all fit. lol...i did get to hear how it sounds yet. the battery was dead. :(

oh...and dont mind the overly long hanger i made. its cut now. i took these pics before i was done...

sen2two 02-29-2008 07:31 AM

here a few shots of the true dual pipes...from the headers to the 3 inch collector

sen2two 02-29-2008 12:03 PM

damn it! damn it all!!!

i tryed to start it up to see how the new exhaust sounds and.....

i have a small exhaust leak where i bolted the exhuast to the header (not tightened all the way yet) and theres fuel leaking from there. this makes me think that when i turn my fuel pump on (toggle switch operated) that fuel is just pouring in there...but i dont see it squirting in there, and its not leaking from the secondarys from what i can see...

could it be just leaking fuel into the motor (im new to carbs, not sure of how the fuel gets in there from idle) from where the fuel enters at idle???

oh and i put a tach in so now i can see what shes idleing at...sounded like 2k before the exhaust.

sen2two 03-02-2008 04:02 PM

update...

i fixed it. there wasnt a problem with the fuel after all. but my timing was so off that none of the fuel was igniting and just shooting out the exhaust...

but...the Fuel pressure regulator is leaking now. ehhhh.....its always something.

oh...and i made and mounted a battery box in the passenger corner. i'll post up pics tomorrow. never seen it mounted there. i think it looks cool. and its just convienent not to run the wires to the rear...

sen2two 03-02-2008 04:04 PM

oh...and she sounds pretty good wth the exhaust. not to loud, but enough to make you think twice before trying me...lol

Clarks7 03-04-2008 05:57 PM

Loose the fan, that is a big drag... and it will clean up the engine compartment (go electric).

sen2two 03-04-2008 08:01 PM

yeah...im gonna try and make it down to the junk yard and try to get a taurus e-fan. its usually the first thing i do. but i been slacking on this one.
