I've seen a lot of LSDs for sale, but I'm still not sure which ones will drop right in or would be best for me.
S4 N/A GSL-SE TII Any thoughts? |
Anybody?

See if you can find a GSL 3rd member to put in.
|
I read on another rx-7 site that the 3rd member from a 94+ miata r or touring package would fit without modification...and its a torsen differential...thats the kind they use in humvees...might want to check out that one too https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Okay, but that only halfway answers my question, LOL.
Of the three, which would be the best to buy? S4 NA GSL/GSL-SE TII I know the torsen would be the best, but I don't know how easy it will be to find one. I will be scouring junkyards tomorrow. |
t2 doesnt fit, so knock that off.
of the s4 fc and 84-85 gsl, buy the tightest one as the units are basically the same. the fc diff requires you to swap the differential unit into your rear end housing, while the fb ones you can pull as an assembly |

Okay, I'm getting different opinions from different people.
(*edit* IMAGINE THAT!) Some say I won't be able to "drop-in" the LSD from a GSL/SE or the s4 NA into my current rear end, a GS. If this wrong, I need to know so I don't order just an LSD expecting it to drop right in. I would also like to know if a Miata torsen unit will drop in, or if it requires more trouble than it's worth. I'm sorry that I'm a newbie and don't know anything. That is all. |
