S5 13bt blowthrough with a 45dcoe.
So. I can't get my FPR to drop below 7psi. I'm running a holley blue fuel pump. 110gph @ 14psi. ANd I'm using a Mallory 4309 It seems as though the fuel return is clogged, but I spraied brake cleaner and mmo down the return then ran the feul pump to bypass the FPR and Carb and run straight down the return hoping all 14psi would clear it out. I let it run for about 15 minutes, and still nothing. I hooked the carb and FPR back up and the second I turn the key 7psi and its pooring fuel out of the main jets. What the fawk is going on. I'm beyone frustrated with this. I just want it running, or gone forever. Also the car is a 83GSL if that matters as far as return size or tank size go. I figure tomarrow I'm going to try and run it with the fpr return dumping into a bucket and see if that lowers the fue pressure. Mind you these results are with the pressure control bolt turned all the way out. |
Sounds like the return is just too small, I would try what you said and run the return into a bucket. If that works just figure out how to get the fuel back to the tank thru a bigger return. Good luck man https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/bigthumb.gif

I don't see how the return could be too small there are plenty of others useing it without a problem.

Your DCOE has a return fitting on it?My 45dcoe never had one.Mind you mine is pig rich right now with a holley FPR.Waiting on another FPR to drop the psi down 4.5psi.Good luck these carbs are picky.

Read the post. The return is off the Fuel Pressure Regulator. And so you know dcoe's ike 3.5 psi 4.5 psi will drip fuel out of your main jets.
