Never done this before so . . .
Am I going to need a bearing puller, if so any special kind? Should I replace the oil seal right away while I'm in there? Do I just tighten it by feel or is there something to measure/torque? Any particular brand/flavour of grease? thx J |
replace the seals, they do go bad. you dont really need anything special, you can use a hammer and chisel to pop the races out

Pretty straight forward process. Be sure to pack the bearings with good grease. Get a good high temp grease from the local parts store. Get some new cotter pins for the castle nuts. Make sure everything is seated and tight when you reassemble it.

you may have to recheck the pre load after a couple of weeks. oh and correct preload is the loosest you can have it before theres play @the rotor
