i want to get a holley. right now i have a stock 12a and an intake manifold from australia i got off ebay just sitting in my room. do i have to install a higher volume fuel pump at the same time? does it matter if get a 2 barrel or 4, im not really sure of the difference...recommendations appreciated

If it's a 4 barrel manifold you want a 4 bbl carb. Don't be misled by CFM ratings of 2 vs 4 bbl carbs. 4 bbl's are flowed at 1.5" vacuum; 2 bbl's are flow at 3". So a 500 CFM 4 bbl outflows a 500 CFM 2bbl by about 40%.

Your stock fuel pump won't supply appropriate pressure for a Holley - you want 6 psi (and more volume capacity than the stock pump).

Are you sure it's a Holley manifold? I thought the Aussies were more into Webers.

it would probably help if you told us what type of intake it is.

anyway, either way, you are bvound to benefit from from an upgraded intake/fuel system over stock.
