I'm thinking of purchasing a Sidedraft webber , or a Holley. Which one is more reliable ? Which of the two less complicated in tuning, ect, ect..? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

i have a dellorto. personal preference from working on air cooled VWs. holleys are good, 4BBL as opposed to 2. theyre available for american cars which means the parts can be found at most auto parts stores.

as far as which one is better...???? i have no idea.

just noticed youre from NYC, u coming to rotorfest??

I had a Weber 48 IDA on my ported 12A and really liked it. Had good acceleration and would take all I could give it.

Webbers are easy to work on Holleys are a little more complicated IMO

Holly's are better for a street driver (better MPG) although more complicated to tune (you must remove the float cover to change the jets). Webers are easy to tune, but they have poor low rpm performance, like driving in traffic.

I've also heard some people say that the Holley has a tendency to get fuel starvation when cornering hard. But great for drag racing.

I must have got lucky with my Weber. I was told the same thing about lower rpm performance, but mine never gave me any trouble. Always very smooth throughout the whole range, low to high.

I have a Mekuni on mine and it seems to do very well. I drive the car everywhere.
