ok, i just went to the local auto zone and the guy told me straight up that putting a holley carb in cant be done. whch i know is wrong because ive seen a 100 pics of it. he said i would need a thick ass spacer/reducer, so that means i need a header or just some thick ass spacer/reducer? would someone please just tell me exactly what pieces i would need to put in a holley and everything else to even out the air/fuel mix. also, what do i need to do to get rid of my choke. even though it hardly ever works and i have to keep the rpms up with my foot on the gas.

by the mere fact you went to autozone, i will assume that you're buying (or have already bought the carb) from a source other than Racing Beat. to that end, i can only give you a portion of the answers you need.

to bolt the carbie onto your engine, you will need any one of the following:

1 - a Racing Beat/Holley manifold

2 - a ready-made adapter plate to bolt the Holley to the stock manifold

3 - a custom-made adapter plate to bolt it to the stock manifold

i would recommend choice 1, simply because although choices 2 and3 a re functional, i have always believed them to be a farce. if you've ever driven a car with a Holley manifold and drove one with the Holley bolted to the stock manifold, you'll know what i mean.

in terms of fuel support: get a Holley pump (or anyone that can flow 55+ gallons/hour and maintain 7 PSI - i know Carter and Mallory make pumps that equal or exceed that, and may be cheaper than the Holley). you will also need a pressure regulator for tuning purposes.

now, the part that i can't help you with is a problem only if the carbie you have is NOT already modified. Racing Beat made some changes to the 465, 550 and 600 units they sell - and though i have heard what they are several times, i have not committed them to memory because i don't run a Holley on my setup. however, a quick search should get you what you need to know.

i hope this gets you started.

i almost forgot ... also make sure you get separate lines for both float bowls.

which engine are you running this on?

cause if you do a search on ebay under 12A or 13B you will find a RB manifold for both right now. Cheeep!

They didnt change much on the carb. from what I can tell it looks like the throttle cable, maybe some jetting and the OMP rod. Im going to use the Holley 465 cfm carb. and block of the omp and run premix that takes care of one problem. you need a fuel pump also if you running stock ports and a small holley blue pump it flows enough and comes with a regulator. its about $115.00
