thats really wierd, its a very simple mechanism, you may want to get a new diaphram for it

when u say a new diaphram what do u mean? and one more thing its running very rich

it doesnt matter what gear you are in, the barrels open by what the gas pedal is doing....no matter what gear u are in. the back barrels should open when u press the gas, its connected with the front barrels. they all work as one, depending on how hard the gas is pressed.

Yeah something on the carb is toasted.Like mike said it might be a diaphram.

mikebeezie3404 03-18-2003 01:16 AM

but what is the diaphram

You need a manual.the haynes manual show the diaphram of it.

the secondaries are activated by huge vaccum from flooring the car, they are opened by a diaphram that is just below the passenger side of carb. most folks are just wiring up their linkages so they operate without the diaphram. do a search for mechanical secondaries here or in the www rx7 club dot com 1st generation.
