looked and didnt see anything. ive got an 85 gsl. its got some minor dents and rust here and there, but appearance wise it's a good car. performance wise...eh. it runs and runs great except it wont idle. when i come to a stop i have to use all 3 pedals at once, or it dies. i havent the slightest clue yet why this happens. ive never worked on cars..just simple brake jobs and spark plug changes. any ideas? if you need more info, let me know and ill see if i can help you help me https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png i love the car :bigthumg:

Sounds to me like you have a huge vacum leak. If you check underneath the carburator, close to the firewall side, you will find that there's a big vacum hose connected from the intake manifold to the carburador. The hose is located to the lowest part of the intake manifold very close to the exhaust manifold closest to the firewall. What happens is all the heat rising from the exhaust manifold heats up the rubber hose and creates a big hole and doesn't let the engine idle.

I agree with Ito on this one.Another spot to look at if it isn't a vaccum leak would be the Air/Fuel mixture. It might not be getting enough fuel at idle to keep it running.

Listen for a whooshing air noise, and follow it to the hole (and/or broken hose) In fact, with the vacuum system, there is a few little hoses that run around the place, that are vital to the running of the engine. Check that no hoses have come loose anywhere around the carb, also check the hoses on the charcoal canister. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif
