Car will fire right up and go, but when shut off when normal temp, she wont start at all and flood the engine. Whats up with this?

My hanes manual says that when the engine is difficult to start when hot you should

1.Check through electrical and fuel systems

2. Check for incorrect adjustment of the idle screw

3.Examine operation of the anti-afterburn valve

4.Check for defects in the hot start assist system

5.Examine fuses and fusible links for possible failure or faulty connection

6. Check ignition timing

7. Check your engine for low compression.

It could be either one of those. You should think about buying the hanes manual for it. It has helped me out a lot and if you buy it off JC Whitney I'm pretty sure its around $30 and possibly a bit lower. It also shows you how to check each of those systems. If the idle isn't bad then i doubt its the idle screw. My bet is actually on the hot start assist system which is located above the front left wheel well in the engine compartment. It's got a cable on it that attaches to the carb. Hope this helped you.

did you check the compression with a gauge used for piston engines? cuz supposedly those don't work the same on rotaries. you need one that is special for rotary engines. I think you can bring it to a mazda dealer to get it done but it might be a little expensive.

you can use piston compression tester gauge but it will only record the highest value of the three rotor faces. a mazda rotary compression tester will record all three faces' compression values along with the rpm.
