I have a '83 12a streetported in a 1st gen but the engine is getting very tired and is beginning to leak water into the rear rotor (sucks but still drives). I want to rebuild it using rotors, rotor housings, ecc. shaft from13B.

Will this work. Am I forgetting something?

youll need to use a pre 86 13B. i believe the reason for this is that the cooloant seals on 12As and pre 86 13Bs have the seal on the rotor housings, as opposed to the side housings. You can make a GSLSE 6 port engine into a 4 port by switching end housings.

The 86 and later are a little harder to be made into a 4 port, as ive come to realize.

so go to ebay, parts trader and find used/reusable GSLSE rotors and rotor housings to slap your ported side housings onto.

What about the stationary gears and the size/shape of the ports?

Is there any power advantages from changing it to a 4 port engine?

The 6 port engines pretty much kill your porting options.
