My brakes keep binding up I think its just my front brakes but it might be all four..
I tried bleeding the brakes, then I rebuilt the calipers, Then some more bleeding! There still draging a bit and getting pads and rotors pretty hot.... What could it be..???? The master cyl..??? mine is pretty new. I have new ss brake lines, calipers, pad's, master cyl..??? what is up with this thing...???? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif |
well I bought all the bake parts at the same time, But I know it can't t it's not the sbe the pads. I just rebuilt the calipers. I trust that it's not the new stainless brake lines. ...
So I'm thinking about replacing the master cyl.. I mean what else could it be.?? The proportioning valve..???? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif |
the porportioning valve could be stuck, but that would affect the rear brakes only.. are the fronts sticking too?
wich ones are getting hotter? front or rear? |
The fronts get by far the hottest out of the four.. so the valve isnt the problem..??? I think victorya Brittish sold me a crappy master cyl.. Most of the rubber parts i have got from them turned out to be ****... my new ball joints tore the boots in 2 mounths same for the boot on the slave cyl i got from them.....

I would start with bleeding the ENTIRE system. If there is any moisture in the lines it can lock up pretty easy. I noticed that you mentioned that you had bled the brakes already but did you flush the entire system?
Then I would move to the proportioning valve. You said that the calipers are new? If they are new then I would try other things first before I replaced those. How do your lines look? |
Well I found out that the auto parts store sold me the wrong caliper grease.. They sold me some "CRC Synthetic brake & caliper grease"
After I rebuilt the calipers I was reading ALL the print on the back and it says "not to be used on internal piston calipers" Damn!!! So it's my fault I should of read the back of the bottle. So I ordered 2 more rebuild kits and bought the right grease, The "ultra synthetic brake & caliper grease" So I'm going to rebuild the fronts again (The right way) Then bleed the entire system and try again..... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif Edit: Oh yeah good idea about the adjusting rod for the master cyl.. I'm going to back it off a bit. |
Hey, at least you found the problem https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif
|
I hope thats all thats wrong.. Because they were binding before I rebuilt them.
|
if that doesnt fix it, next step would be to loosen a brake line at the master, if it doesnt fix it, its between the master and the wheel, if it does its the master....
