well my motor I am sure is blown. was sitting at a red light and revved it and it just started missing horribly. started to go and it was running with like 40 hp and hardly going.. Turned down my stereo and it was only running on one rotor, every other stroke it was ok. Went up a big hill and it just died. Sitting in some guys parking lot. Looking for a new motor.. 12a or 13b? HELP
|
yup sounds like you need a motor https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png
|
Call around, get 5 or 6 estimates then go with the guy in the middle
price range. |
I can put the motor in, I've already done 3 of them. I just need a motor. can't find a good 12a anywhere. Used.
|
Sounds like you might have to look at rebuidling your old motor then.A carbed 13b drops in easily but still costs a bit to do.
|
Yea, I think I am going to rebuild my motor. I don't know if the rotors and housings are going to be rebuildable though. Over 240,000 miles on them. I might just try to find a 13b and put a 6-port manifold and holley carb on her. I know this on car has a good 12a that is at a state impound, but they are waiting for investigation on it because some guy died in it. It has a roll cage and everything in it. Maybe it has something "special" done to the motor. Because the guy was a race car driver.

Tear it down and survey the damage. Then go from there. I wouldn't put in a used motor.

yea I am seeing the rebuild right now.

Good Job 245,000 miles is a helluva run.
|
I'll say. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif That's more than my dad's Dodge Ram van with a 'workhorse' 318 in it. He had it rebuilt right after it hit 200k. No way I was tackling that job, but a rotary, no problem.

Look elsewhere. |
245k miles! Amazing. You might want to check the distibutor before being convinced of engine failure, although at 245k it had to be getting pretty tired.

In the Racer's circle, no one EVER buys or uses parts from a car that took someone's life. It's Taboo. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/unsure.png
