So I just finished doing a lot of preliminary repairs on my 85' gsl project car... Started it up, and i've been getting a lot of power loss, though less the move i drive it (not driving it regularly; still working on it). A friend and also a mechanic suggested creating a mixture of diesel and marvel mystery oil, and submerging the rotors, letting it sit a while and hopefully loosen up the carbon and crap, then just sticking it in neutral and flooring it for a bit until it all burns off. I've heard this is a marvelous way to bring rotaries back to life... I was wondering if anyone's had any personal experiences that I might learn from before I do this? The engine is going to have to be rebuilt if this doesn't work, so any advice would be very helpful, as I don't have the cash on hand to rebuild or buy a new engine. As a LAST HOPE EFFORT to get some more life out of a dead/dying motor, it's a good idea. Use Automatic Transmission fluid or MMO, make sure it gets in all three chambers of each rotor, and let it sit in the engine for about 24 hours. I'd take off your cats and have a set of new plugs ready to swap in after you start it up and blow all that **** out.

Alright, thanks; I appreciate it. I'm not going to do it yet; the more it's driven, the better it's running... I think after a year of sitting, it might just need to do some cleaning out via actual use; we'll see. Thanks again.
