haha i always assume you will answer my threads j9. you have been my advice guy.

my question is, do the secondaries on the holley 600 only open under load, or in gear, however you wish to say it.

i was messing with my throttle linkage today and gave her a good rev using the throttle arm, i was watching my plates, my secondaries dont open. so here i sit with my question

you'll have to look, there are vacuum secondary carbs and mechanical. easiest way to tell is to open the throttle with the car off, if everything opens then its mechanical.

they are mechanical and they opened when we installed it. i havent seen it lately but maybe something broke.

so you mean that the plate on the secondaries is not opening at full throttle? both of the plates on top of the carb should be opening.

dont know how i could have broken it allready. i dont romp on the car that hard, i redline it once a week and shift at 3.5k normally.

they open slightly at WOT but not as much as when we first installed them.

also, another dumb question, should there be a really loud audible hissing coming from my carb at idle ?

Shane.Trammell 10-05-2005 11:31 AM

like when you floor it its not opening all the way or when you open the throttle by hand they arent opening all the way?
