My 83 FB is going though a tank of gas every 90 or 100 miles. Im new to carbs so does anyone know what is going on? I can smell fuel in the exhaust. the fuel isn't leaking that I can tell. Damn. My FB gets 210 miles out of tank. Its got a stock motor. Is your motor stock, aftermarket carb? Carl

That's what I got before I rebuilt my carb then it was ~19mpg

everything on the car is completely stock. how difficult is it to rebuild the carb? do you need any special tools?

No special tools, just a double jointed finger to get 1 nut off to remove the carb from the car. All I did was take it all apart, soak it in carb cleaner, rebuilt it with a carb kit and it ran great after that.
