i can use the jumper and get the pump to work (new pump), but other wise nothing. Can't find a fuse for it, i understand it gets a signal from the ECU. I have replaced the main relays on the left fenderwell, no help. Is there if fuse or fuseable link that would control the ECU, and just where the hell is the ECU??????

Is your air flow meter plugged in? the fuel pump relay is controlled by it.

hmm yeah the needle should bounce. the tach and ecu are driven off the trailing ignition, so no trailing ignition = no tach = no rpm signal to ecu = no fuel pump

so would this lead you to think the ECU was bad?

i'm thinking about the trailing ignitor. its very very rare to see a bad gsl-se ecu

He could use a timing light on the trailing coil wire to see if the trailing

coil is firing.......

did you disconect your battery when installing your new pump? If not you may have shorted something. I don't know about gsl-se's but my 80 has a fuse for the engine it kills the fuel pump and ignition check to see if you have one.
