simple... find an LSD unit, good exhaust for a little more power, and that is all you really need.

Trying to find a lsd unit in the uk is hard work as there were no gen1's with the lsd in the uk. To buy one here is 1000 pounds what is way out of my price range. Has anyone ever welded up a diff in a gen1?

Yeah, welding may be an option. It would be a bitch to drive anywhere else, but would probably work well for sideways work. Otherwise, look into lsd units from 2nd gens or Miatas. Pretty sure at least some of them are cross compatible.

Billy over at www.re-speed.com has advised a couple of guys on their suspension setups for drift. He's got a small forum where you can ask questions about spring rates, alignement settings, etc.

since you have an 84, it should have the big axle diff, which is the same as the 86-92 NON turbo rx7 and 94-2005 miata.
