Hello

Just bought a non running RX7 to keep my 71 Bug company

its a 83 Rx7 and been sitting 3 years. I stuck a pic up in the garage

Real clean, mostly in a garage, Engine turns. that's all I got , Seller said the brakes went out and she sat

What should I do next?. Sc

Well I would take a look at the brakes. Brakes going out could indicate a low level in fluid or a bubble in the system. If the system still holds fluid and doesn't leak it out anywhere then I would say it's a bubble. I guess I'd go and check all the pads and rotors too while your at it. When u say the engine turns do u mean that it runs or no?

he stated in the first post that it doesnt run my best bet would try some aero start usually does the trick for me

Oh shoot ur right I completely read over that. Sorry guys. Also, make sure the gas in it isn't bad cuz that might cause issues and u could try carb cleaner. Of that doesn't work then u may have flooded the engine. If I'm correct then a flooded engine usually smells like it's leaking gasoline and it just doesnt start. The way I unflooded my 84 was I took ATF and poured a cap full down each of the primary barrels on the carb. Then you pump the pedal all the way down to the floor 6 times. Then finally try to start it. Supposedly you can use oil and don't have to use ATF. Either way when she comes to life she's gonna make one hell of a smoke cloud. oh and make sure the battery is charged well before attemptingIt's reccomended that after deflooding a rotary that you should get an oil change and clean if not replace your plugs. I would only try this when your sure that it's flooded and nothing else has suceeded in bringing the engine to life.

I have filled tank, which was dry. The weather is GA has been hot with bugs, so I am chargin the battery, Poured marvel mystery oil in the spark plug holes. Hope that loosens it up.

I have a feeling, since it has sat for a few years. the motor may need new seals. Is that as easy as it looks? Or is it tough Mike

I got fuel to the carb. Ran the starter and got some hits. I think I flooded it. Battery wimped out. Charging stay tuned
