83 GSL..no power steering??
 

Hey folks.

My '83 steers like Fred Flintstone's ride....didn't these cars come with power steering?...

It is soooooo hard to turn at low speed...is it normal

any suggestions what the problem may be?

My 83 didn't have power steering, should be pretty easy to tell, is there a power steering pump being driven by a belt on the front of the engine or not?

I'm pretty sure I don't have a power steering...i have an 83 owners manual and it doesn't even mention power steering or how to check the fluid...i find that quite odd..

anywho, assuming I have manual steering is it normal for it to be very hard to turn?

When stopped it can be a trick, but once you start moving it's nothing difficult to deal with. I actually prefer no P/S as it reduces weight and has no parasitic power losses, both of these things equal a faster car in my book.
