my 79 came with disk brake around how do i find out what model it is? is it as gsl se when i got it had a 13 six port in it
i wonder? ????? |
no the gslse didnt come till 84 i belive. someone may have put a disk break rear end into it and the 13b six port motor as well.
|
Yeah. As far as I know the GSL-SE was only available in '84 and '85 so I agree that those were modifications to the original '79 vehicle
|
the gsl-se stuff all bolts right up
|
You can find out all kinds of thing (like the model) from the vin #. If you can't read the Vin your insurance agent can tell you....

First gens are cool like that. I put all of the running gear off an 84 se into a 81/82. The hardest part was the wiring. It didn't have a rollover safety when all was said and done.
That thing came out tits. The strongest FB I've been in. Then the **** I sold it to proceeded to demolish it w/in a week. BTW, the Intrax springs were way too harsh for the street. |
Just about the only 'bolt-up' difference mechanically, is a rear brake line section.

I have heard that it was an opiton. you could order it with disks breaks
