I recently bought a 1982 rx7 and noticed it had drums in the back. I'm re-doing the breaks and I won't stand for weak drums. I have yet to take the wheel off and get a good look but before I do does anybody know where I can find a conversion kit? And better yet, some sort of guide. Thanks.

re speed has a kit now, its basically a fancy caliper bracket, and uses the stock GSL rear discs and calipers

The only brake kits I saw at re-speed were here but they are all big brake kits, and only go from existing discs. Am I looking in the wrong place?

I sent an e-mail this is what he replied:

We have not installed them to figure the spacers need (if any) for these to work with a first gen.I do know the bolt size, flange and bolt spacing are the same so the parts will mount up. I just have not been able to get a hold of a drum rear end to check backspacing on the rotors. So..... Yes they will fit. You may need to make some spacers for the caliper mounting bolts to get it to line up with the rotor.
Works for me, thanks for the help.
