Hey gurus!

Quick question. What would cause a 12A to seem like its running on one rotor? I have spark, gas and the compression seems good. At times it will run on both fine, shut it off and restart and it runs on one. Going to replace the trailing ignitor this morning and clean some plugs to see if that helps. Im running the 3 coil MSD setup. Thanks!! Shawn

Clean the plugs first and see if that helps. If not make sure your coils are still good. One might be one the way out.

I remember reading some where that after '80 or '81 they put a valve on the intake of one of the rotors that shut off on decel to reduce backfires, mine was doing the same thing when i first bought it (it sat for a few years) but it worked its self out before i got into looking at it.

would this cause the rear rotor to have no compression while doing a "quicky(remove to spark plug and fire) compression test?

thanks

no this would not cause no compression would just stop fuel for entering the housing

i wouldnt be concerned if it clears after warmup..

get a compression check..

I bought a 83 Mazda rx-7 GSL 12A that is leaking oil below the manifold and when it gets warm it will start smoking by driping oil on the exhaust. The car was parked for 3 years without moving the last owner was surprised that the car began smoking. (i think he was sincere.) Any suggestions what the problem is? Will be too expensive to repair? Can I place any liquid or seal to stop the leakage? Thanks !
