I know of a wrecker that has some low mileage DSMs in it and I was curious if and how much bigger would the 14b be compared to a Stock hitachi turbo?I would change to a 16g later but I'm curious as to how well a mitsu turbo would work on our car.any info is welcome.

the only mitsu turbo that would be worth anything would be a tdo6-20g but even thats small for an rx-7...unless you want to make a twin 16g or 18g set up that be intresting.

A TD05 is really too small for a rotary. Infact I bet it's smaller than a T2 turbo.

I was interested in the Mitsu turbos also. I have a TDO5H that I fished out of the trash a while back, and I'm kinda just sitting on it for now. I'm having trouble determining the turbine that it is running. I checked the ID code on the compressor housing and it gad had a couple numbers ground off and then new ones etched in overtop. When sizing a turbo for a 13B you consider it a 2600cc motor as opposed to a 1300, right?

Thats right. And once you think you have the turbine size figured out go a step larger.

OK, cool. Figuring out the right turbo for my setup will probably be a little easier now As far as going one size bigger on the turbo's hot side, is there a mathematical reason for that, or is it just a rotary-rule-of-thumb?

rotaries have a very hot exhaust gas. Hotter than your average piston engine. Thats why you can run larger turbos on them.
