better mpg?

Re: better mpg?
I have 2004 rx8 gt 6port 6 speed. I swapped the 4.4 for the 1993-95 rx7 4.1. I also have ls2 coils stock exhaust.
The car feels better with the taller first gear and gets 21mph normal driving and 19.5 with AC tuning in summer. No noticeable loss in power do to gear swap.

Rx8s are great but Mazda did make a few major flaws.
The most important thing to upgrade is the coils. This can cost $350-$500
The factory rx8 coils burn up quickly 30,000 miles normally. The chevy ls coils last forever. When the coils go bad the car runs rough waste fuel and builds carb that can quickly destroy the engine. Upgrade the coils right away and you can avoid flooding issues, starting issues, wasting fuel, clogged exhaust, poor performance.
Any rx8 you buy do the coils.
The 4.1 rear is also a nice worthwhile upgrade, it will save you fuel and extend the life of the motor but I have only done this on the 6port 6speed manual and this won't make much diffrence if any on the automatic version, it might not be effective on the 4port manual 5 speed either.
