Blow through means air is pulled into turbo pressurized, then pushed through carb into engine.

It's one of my favorite topics. It's a very low cost way to achieve high performance. I've done a couple cars with a friend and am doing my first solo build right now. The hardest part is tuning the carb to run good on the street. Mine runs very nice and reliable but I've been doing it for awhile. If u want help or info just ask

Thanks for clarifying lol now i have a stock 12a in my 85, what should i do to prep the carb and motor if i wanted to go this route?? Like i know on pistons motors they recommend reinforcing the bottom end and using a new HG and head studs..but u can also get away with a stock motor as long as u dont go crazy lol I dont know much about carbs or rotaries, so i would have someone tune it for me when its done lol but i am capable of building it and boosting it myself

U don't need to do anything to the motor, but if u ever open it up street port it. 12a turbo exhaust manifolds are hard to find so start looking now. Good luck finding someone who can tune ur carb, it took me a long time to get it right. Many of the parts have to be modified to make it run smoothly. If u live near delaware ill do it.

I like the holley 450cfm mechanical secondaries. U'll need a secondary metering block 5/32"brass rod drill press power valve plug, jet kit sizes 59 to 70 pink and brown pump cams. Gasket paper nitrophyl floats, jet extensions, and some permatex.

Even with all my experience tuning for street use can take a couple days.

U'll also need a turbo oil return line. I pulled my motor dropped the pan and drilled a hole under the omp pump. I'm not sure if there is an easier way

Too bad im down in texas lol hmm idk if im ready to tackle the carbuerator task just yet, sounds like i have to acquire a few extra pieces after i purchase a carb , that i wouldnt kno what to do with once i have them in my hand lmao thanks for the info though! Now you said i dont have to do anything internally to the motor , does this apply to all mild turbo apps?? For example if i choose to go T2 swap but want a little more power then a stock T2 offers, how far do you recommend i can push it until i need to tear it down and replace seals and gaskets and such?? Can i make 300hp?? Sorry im a rotor newb

Rotarys are very strong. U should be able to get close to 350-400whp with any stock motor. Just do a compression test. Also I don't use trailing. It's waste of money and is dangerous under boost. U hear a about cracked irons broken apex seals, its normally do to poor tuning. Not using trailing will also open the door for low cost efi systems but that means limited power because u can't stage the injectors. I'm saving my money for a motec ecu 8injector setup with jay pro intake TBI. It's very expensive but worth every cent. So many rx7s with cheap ECUs trying to get big HP with only four injectors. U want v8 power start with a v8 sized fuel system. My $300 carb is better than a half assed efi setup. Besides there is nothing better than the feeling of the secondary's on a carb opening. There is a slight hesitation and then violence. It's like the silence before a storm carbs are a low cost way to get running but to have a reliable ride u need lots of tuning experience. If u want to try it I can help.

Friend me on my page. I hear there are some real good tuners in Texas.

ok it seems like you guys know a lot more than me when it comes to rotaries lol. Can anyone point me in the direction on 12A building tips? I think i kind of want to stray away from a blow thru setup for now as im finding it a little hard to comprehend to prep the carb to hold pressure lol. I know im capable of disassembling and porting the motor(with templates of course) and have a buddy who can tune the weber carb i plan on using. My question is, should i put the time ,money, and effort into bridgeporting and rebuilding my 12A , or put that money into a 13b T2 swap with all it requires. I cant seem to find a 12A faq or setups around, i know what target HP i wanna make around, so if i can do it with a bridgeported 12A and be able to drive it around town and kick some fan boy *** , ill be happy lol. If i dump time and money into my 12A and its still slow as ****, makes less then 200hp, then ill go 13b T2. Thanks in advance fellas!

I had a first gen street port 12a that ran 13s all motor. 450 holley full racing beat exhaust. Would get 20mpgs.

I have never drivin a bridge port but would not recommend more than a street port. A large treet port feels great. It's called a street port for a reason and I'm told it feels more powerful under normal driving conditions.
