Today is the first day of spring, which here in New York, doesnt mean much as the weather has taken a turn for the worse lately. Anyhow- I figured I would post my winter project, which still arent finished, and by doing so, maybe some of you would reply, and give me some ideas, or vise-versa. I want to install a oil pressure/water temp gauge in a pod which I would paint to match the interior on my pillar, thinking of going with BLITZ gauges, I dont want to mount them where the 2 pieces of the factory radio are sitting under my Sony one as I like the way that looks. I am in the process of smoothing my radio surround,vents/climate controls surround and shifter panel and painting them black so they look part of the outside of the car and not the cheap textured plastic that they are ( also I had that familiar crack above the vents which I epoxied and smoothed out ). I also love the way those MOMO shift ***** look! I love the aluminum and black leather one! My exaust is showing signs of age, Its almost 5 year old now, and while the Borla mufflers and tailpipes are still shiny and new looking, the y-pipe looks a bit shitty , so Im going to have that done over in heavy gauge stainless ( I wish they sold a pre-silencer in stainless!). I think I may break down and put a high-flow catalytic converter on as well, the fumes from the exaust is starting to grow old on me, should I put this forward or aft of the silencer? im thinking forward? Im going to get the 2" lip on my rims polished as well. I have another aluminum hood that I think Im going to paint and put on the car, but if I do that, I think I want to put the East Bear light kit on? Has anyone put these on thier car? Is it a hack job or what? I also have a small oil leak which I just got at the start of winter when I took the car off the road, its slight, I hope its not a problem. Im thinking of taking the car to TYROLEAN MOTORS ( spelling?) if me and my regular mechanic cant track it down, anyone use them on Long Island or know a trust worthy mechanic since I cannot track down Kevin from Rotormotive? I still have fresh DEX-COOL antifreeze so Im good with that this year, and Ill do the ATF thing and throw some good plugs and a new set of NGK wires on. Damm- long post! SO whats your projects and how are they coming along????

The east bear kit should be easy to install. It doesn't like anything difficult. Common spots for oil leaks are the oil cooler lines and oil filter assembly. You may want to stay away from Dexcool. Some of those long life products can be harsh on the cooling system. Frequent changes with regular coolant should do fine.

You could also look for a leak near the oil metering pump. I've never seen the 0-ring go bad, but it's possible.

If it has silicates in it then it's not so good.

Yeah dude,

Dexcool isn't good for rotaries. When I got my engine it had a big *** sticker that said use of coolant with silicates voids all warranties...blah..blah...blah. I would drain it and fill with regular ole 50/50 mix.
