Thanks to j9fd3s for this version....

ok the simple version: parts: you need another ignitior and coil and some wire. remove stock leading ignitor, it has a 2 pin connector to the pickup in the dizzy. wire it so that the ignitor you just took off and your extra one both get that same signal. wire one coil to each ignnitor, each coil to each leading plug. boom done More info can be found on Jeff20b's page at this link.Igniton upgrade!

Or you can use a GM HEI module and two ford HEI coils (these are easily found in
your local self serve wrecking yard).
Let me see if I can find a wiring diagram on the module.

I am running three GM HEI moduals and three accel superstock coils, no backfire at full throttle when you let off there is no backfire or stumble. At idle cold there is no stumble like with stock ignition and throttle response is much better.

Does anyone have part numbers for the GM ignitors and a wiring diagram?

Ask the parts store guy for three ignitors for a '79 Buick or Corvette or pretty much anything GM from that era. He'll tell you you only need one. Tell him you've got a lot of cars to do. :) Or if you feel like telling the truth, you could say you're going to try a direct fire experiment. :D
